Sarah creates a safe and inclusive space where everyone with diverse backgrounds, life experiences, and abilities are welcomed to come as you are.
Sarah took her first yoga class 15 years ago while at an inpatient/rehab center. Through her own journey in recovery and as a trauma survivor, she is particularly interested in the healing properties of yoga, sound, and energy.
She has advanced training and experience for mental health, addictions, eating disorders, and trauma. She is a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist and leads Holistic Natural Recovery programs at a recovery center. She offers trauma-conscious classes, small groups, and private sessions to support individuals' unique journeys. Sarah enjoys guiding clients to better capacities to manage stress, trauma, recovery, and everyday life.
With 15 years of experience in global human resources, and as a previously overstressed professional who has experienced burnout, she also enjoys supporting individuals manage stress and overall wellbeing and helping organizations cultivate cultures and programs that promote equity, inclusive, and wellbeing. She has designed and led wellness programs for companies and organizations.
Sarah collaborates with different organizations to offer community programs to support self-care and community-care. Some recent organizational collaborators include: Zimmerli Art Museum, Rutgers University, The Well (community wellbeing), Windows of Understanding (community inclusivity), Harpswell Foundation (women's education in SE Asia), Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Renfrew Center Foundation (eating disorders recovery), Open Door Recovery Center (substance use prevention/recovery), Community in Crisis (substance use prevention/recovery), Community in Connection (substance recovery), Happy.Sober.Free (recovery community), Humane Human (community wellbeing based in SE Asia), PANDAI (Indonesia's Peace Education), and Center of Empowerment (domestic and sexual violence support). In 2021, she partnered with The Well to create and deploy mindfulness/wellness content, such as meditation and guided sound relaxation videos and audios, to over 290 schools, reaching 100,000 students.
Sarah is also an advocate and mentor for mental health. She has often shared her own personal experience to bring hope and fight the stigma of mental illness, especially amongst Asian American Pacific Islander and immigrant/refugee communities. Her work has been profiled in national publications, social media outlets, and NPR affiliates. In 2012, she was a speaker at a Congressional Briefing for the Federal Response to Eliminating Eating Disorders (FREED) Act.
Through working with body, mind, and spirit, Sarah aims to create integrative and transformative experiences - enabling more acceptance towards your authentic selves – physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
